Keith's Wood is an ongoing project in Glen Gardens, in memory of a great supporter and Friend of the gardens who sadly died last year. The plan is to clear the existing bed of shrubs saplings and rotten trees and replace with some new birch, cherry and rowan saplings and plant up with spring flowering bulbs either side of a new wheelchair friendly path which will run through the bed.

Fundraising and applications to various bodies has been taking place over the last year and although it has taken longer than anticipated we now have enough funds to make a start on the project. Adi French, Gardening Coordinator, Sept 2020.

We are really pleased that this first phase is now partially complete. There is still some clearing to be done, the amazing Good Gym York have been a great help with this, there are also still a lot of bulbs to go in!

Excitingly CYC were so impressed with what we have done that they are helping us to complete phase 2 past the second tennis court & the basketball court.

Then in the Autumn we will be ready to plant the spring flowering bulbs.
